Holy Poozyory

Why holy? In our region, everyone knows that there used to be a lot of churches, chapels, and monasteries along the shores of Lake Ilmen. That’s what it’s all about. In our time, little of the former richness remains. But Father Alexander has plenty of work. He has a large parish. There are three major churches (architectural monuments) in his ministry. I would like to tell you about modern life in our churches and about his parishioners. I believe these photographs are important for the history of our Pozerie, as one of its key aspects of life today.
